Building Committee Report:

The building plans are nearly complete and the Building Permit will be applied for soon.  Ground breaking is planned for early May.  The new well was drilled on the 24th.  Also on the 24th, with a major assist of the hydraulic tree transplanter from Bader and Sons of St. Louis, three spruce trees were moved from the project area to retired Pastor Norris’ adjacent lot.  Septic plans have been approved by the Saginaw County Department of Public Health.

A meeting was held on the evening of the 24th to bring all in the Committee up to date on the building process.  It was decided to organize subcommittees to work on various areas of the construction process.  Among them were the kitchen fixtures, countertops, etc., flooring, including both carpeted and hard surface areas, lighting and fixtures, bathroom fixtures, etc. daily cleanup and the hospitality group for feeding the volunteer workers.

Fundraising is also still a major priority.  A couple of ideas for raising funds included a memorial walkway with customized bricks and a “Memorial” or” Miracle” Sunday, following the lead of the United Methodist Foundation.
